First , this report captures the project called “ Addressing Gender Inequality through Awareness Raising: Ending Women and Youth’s Political Marginalization in Somalia” – a project supported by the Canada Fund for local initiatives implemented by our centre –SWSC. The activities of this project include three workshops , one time event commemorating international women’s day on the 8^th March 2014 and four radio forums. These activities were organized and implemented together with the participants / beneficiaries by Smali Women’s Studies Centre (SWSC) in Mogadishu , Somalia on the 4^th March 2014 to 5^th March 2014. It also discussed the impacts of these activities on the beneficiaries / participants . The purpose of this project was to provide Somali women and youth with a platform through workshops and radio forums where they could discuss key issues , challenges facing them and come up with their own solutions .
